Proud to be a conference sponsor!

Since our launch in 2011, RNC has supported hundreds of not-for-profit organisations to help them grow the impact of their fundraising strategies and operations and raising millions of pounds for Good Causes. Our consultancy works across England and Wales, and most of our work is with regional organisations.

So, we’re thrilled to announce that RNC is supporting the Fundraising on the Margins Conference on Thursday 17th November between 1pm – 5pm.

And we’re delighted to share our expertise through the session – Trusts and Foundations – What Do They Really (Really!) Want – on successful fundraising from trusts and foundations. Our director Richard Newton will bust some myths and outline how to make winning funding applications and how to successfully work with trusts and foundations.

The virtual event has been created by the South West Fundraisers Forum.

Fundraising on the Margins is aimed specifically at fundraisers working in a regions and nations context.

Fundraising on the Margins recognises that fundraisers in the regions and nations often work solo, in small teams, with more limited financial resources, and may have other operational responsibilities.

The voluntary sector is facing ever-growing challenges because of the cost-of-living crisis, the pandemic, growing social inequalities and a forecast recession.

Securing income from donations, individual giving, corporate support, lottery funding and trusts and foundations is increasingly competitive, and the pressure on fundraisers is growing exponentially.

Many fundraising conferences and networking events can be prohibitively expensive, particularly as CPD budgets are shrinking, so Fundraising on the Margins has been realistically priced and by taking place online there’s no need for travel expenses.

Fundraising on The Margins is an opportunity to hear from leading experts, explore giving trends and a chance to network with colleagues.

There’s an opening presentation by Lucy Gower – one of the best storytellers in the charity sector.

Polly Symondson addresses one of the big issues facing the sector; namely, staff recruitment and retention. Polly offers some useful solutions.

Professor Jen Shang from the Insitute of Sustainable Philanthropy uses real-life examples to offer practical ways of harnessing psychology to shift the focus from the money to the person and how this shift in focus can support copywriting.

Digital experts GivePanel share the latest developments from the world of digital fundraising; they will be joined by fundraisers blazing a digital trail.

Fundraising has a predominantly female workforce, Emma Malcolm, Director of Fundraising at the Macular Society talks about menopause; many women leave the workforce in middle age. How organisations can better support their female workforce to avoid the loss of knowledge and expertise?

Nicola O’Donnell from Remarkable Partnerships gives the lowdown on making corporate partnerships work for your charity regardless of your scale or location.

Finally, the conference is wrapped up with a plenary session led by Bushra Ahmed (trustee for the Lloyds Bank Foundation, HomeStart UK and others) on how we can work with grassroots community organisations to mobilise and sustain the positive change we all want to see for our beneficiaries.

The online conference promises to bring a geographically dispersed fundraising community together.

We’re really looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting new people from the regional fundraising community

Individual tickets are priced at £50 and team tickets at £500.
